Back in June, I shared my plans in a post titled “How I Will Spend My Summer (and Why It Matters for You).”

The vision was simple:

• ✅ Balance strategy and rest
• ✅ Protect CEO-time for big-picture thinking
• ✅ Travel with my dogs and cat for three weeks in August, visiting family and friends all over western Canada

But here’s how it really unfolded…

The Oopsie

That road trip never happened. My travel trailer went in for repair in early August after a little “oopsie” on a previous trip.

I had pictured sunsets in the mountains, dogs curled at my feet, my cat watching from the window, and evenings laughing and swapping stories with family and friends. Losing that plan could have left me down and out.

The Redirect

Instead of sulking, I redirected:

🌱 At home: I transformed my front yard. What used to be a weed-infested patch is now a lush green lawn you’d want to walk barefoot across, complete with a brand-new perennial rock garden.

📚 In business: I traded road miles for brain miles. In August, I earned my Breakthrough Coaching Professional credential. In September, I went further—three weeks of live intensive training that earned me the title of Breakthrough Coaching Master.

🎤 In community: September also brought ProfitCon, my favorite business conference of the year. There’s nothing quite like the energy of connecting with other Profit First Professionals, sharing strategies, and sparking fresh momentum.

The Outcome

My clients are already benefiting from these new tools. Together, we’re uncovering hidden patterns, shifting beliefs, and accelerating the kinds of changes that create lasting business freedom.

This fall feels different. It’s not just about shiny new goals—it’s about using specialized skills, fresh clarity, and grounded habits to make those goals stick.
